Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same, you wanna go where everybody knows your name.

Happy Monday

Monday morning. We all know my history with Monday mornings. For whatever reason, every bad thing that has ever happened to me has been on a Monday morning. My mother was convicted and sentenced to prison on a monday. I found out I had been dismissed from school on a  monday. I was framed on a monday.

Mondays, for me, bear a certain pain that I wish I never had the undying pleasure of experiencing. I always said, nothing good can come out out of a monday. However, this monday, at this very moment, it all feels different. I start a new job today. What's better is that this new job is on campus.

The only place that really feels like home to me anymore is, yes at home with grandparents (on a good day), but mostly on campus. That alone is enough to make me smile, at least for the day. Is it enough to allow for me to be able to kiss my current job goodbye? There's no way of telling, afterall it is just the first day. However, hope surrounds me as I await at the south street station for the bus that would carry my to my destination.

I had packed away all of the pain and self-hatred for the uncanny situation I found myself in. I had found ways to smile even though every bone, muscle, and nerve in my body couldn't bear it. I cried for the first time since everything blew up in my face last night and today on the bus, my eyes once again swelled with hard tears. Yet, here I am. I now have another job to carry me over. I even heard from one of my old teachers from high school that the doctor I used to shadow wants to hear from me.

Hope has been the air for a while, I'll admit that, and finally I can actually feel it. Somehow, someway, everything is becoming ok. Happy Monday.
