Want to hear the latest on my love match-making? It's been awhile since I've tried to fix up anyone and I generally try to stay out of others people love lives--for obvious reasons--but one particular opportunity showed it's face and I simply couldn't help myself. So I have a friend named, Gina. She's such a sweetie. Really pretty, super smart (I mean, come on! She's goes to Notre Dame for crying out loud), talented, and get this... A Beauty Pageant Queen! I KID YOU NOT!! More craziest? She's never had a boyfriend. Never even been kissed by a boy! Well this semester her usually group of friends (and half of mine) are all studying abroad, which leaves poor Gina all alone for the semester. You think she'd be bummed and she was a bit but she was way more excited to branch out and meet new people. More importantly, meet boys!
I guess you could say that Gina kind of stepped into my life this semester. The life of a Smick! By day we studied and chatted over starbucks, by night we drank lots and lots of alcohol. There were a weekends where we drunkedly dorm-hopped (the act of going from dorm to dorm in search of party) in which she tagged along but it wasn't until one particular weekend, pretty much toward the end of the semester where things turned around for Gina.
Remember Chris? The shivering slimeball this is his nature (I swear every time I see him, I want to vomit). One night, I found myself bored. Gina had become my party person so she was the first person I texted in hopes of getting out of our dorms and doing something. I had received a message from Chris wanting to hang out. I couldn't say no, because I owed him. So I invited Gina along in hopes of her possibly buffering any oddness. The plan? Hit Chris's for about and hour then head over to our friend's Casey for the REAL fun! That didn't happen.
So apparently Chris had a roommate named Dan and a friend named Alex. Gina and I couldn't stand Dan but we LOVED Alex. Cute guy! SHORT guy, but that's another story. In hopes of trying to foil the already geek party in session, I start a conversation about relationships. The boys (Chris, Dan, Alex) just LOVED that. Next thing, I know we're having this discussion and everyone is engaged. All except Gina who was trying her hardest not to vomit from the dirtiness that is Dan. Two words: Neck Massage. It was hard to watch but again, that's another story.
We eventually vacated Chris's room (he was too drunk to move) and went to Reckers, and on-campus restaurant to continue this oh so meaningful conversation. There was skipping involved on the way there. The type of skipping you saw on THE WIZARD OF OZ. The night progressed and we part ways: Me and Alex/ Gina and Dan. Don't get your hopes up, nothing happened between me and Alex. Just a friend brewing--and odd one at that. Gina and Dan? Let's just say he screwed up with her BIG TIME!! But only time would tell what would happen between Gina and Alex!
To be continued...
