Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same, you wanna go where everybody knows your name.

Atlease You Got to Witness

Today, I decided to let my cousin pick the title for my blog post. Her idea for a blog post was, "It's My Birthday, BEYOTCH!!!!" That didn't work out. I've have that song by Drake in my head for the longest time now. Which is where the title for this blog post came from. This is my birthday week and it's been a relatively good one, or so I thought. I believe it was at midnight on new years day where my cousin was the first to tell me happy birthday. I literally had almost forgotten it was my birthday. I got on facebook to find that I already had about 20 birthday posts from various friends. Ah--The power of facebook as a schedule reminder!

I conversed for a bit the headed to bed, for I had been at work literally all day--from 8 AM til about 5 PM--It might have been about 2 AM possibly 3, but believe me that's early for me. I wake the next morning with about 50 more posts, 15 text messages, and 1 phone message from a friend who was heading abroad. The whole scenario of all this just made my day. Night time comes, and I lose count as to how many people were wishing happy birthday. One thing remained burned my brain, my own brother was not one of those people. I suppose, I'm being selfish and spoiled but I figured if anyone should have wished me happy birthday, it should have been him.

Of course he had an excuse. He apparently was too sick to do so. A stomach ache I believe it was. Amazing, right? More like pathetic. I saw him at church all hugged up with his fiance, the female dog. I thought to myself, I bet if it had been her birthday, he wouldn't have been too sick. But the only thing good about my birthday to him is the fact that it means that there's 20 days left til her birthday. The Nerve.  His idea of  'making it up' to me was inviting himself and his fiance--whom he knows I can't stand--over, eating the rest of my birthday cake, and forcing unpleasant small talk from me about their wedding.

I can feel it in my bones, a family rivalry is brewing. If he seriously plans on going through with this wedding or whatever you want to call it, than we'll probably be at war for the rest of our days.  People--mainly family--say  I'm being childish and immature about my sincere dislike for this whole marriage ordeal, but at this point, I don't really give a care. I feel physical pain when I see her. I'm not comfortable being in the same room as the girl. It's not even funny anymore. So I'm just going to completely detach myself from the both of them. Happy freaking birthday to me.
